Things You Will Need:
- You will need an eyeglass prescription to order your new glasses – it is your right to receive a copy of your prescription when you have an eye exam. If you don't have a copy of your prescription our opticians will call your doctor to get a copy.
- Eyeglass prescriptions will contain written values for all of the parameters for fabricating your lens. Don't worry about the details of the prescriptions – our licensed opticians are trained to interpret the instructions and fabricate your lenses.
- Your prescription may also contain a written number for "PD" (pupillary distance). This measurement is used to position the optical center of the lens so that you will be able to easily see through the lens, and to center the eyeglass correction in front of the pupil of your eye. This measurement is important to the proper fit of your glasses and to position the glasses properly on your face. However, it is often not included on an eyeglass prescription as a way to make the purchasing of online eyeglasses more difficult. If your PD is not included, our licensed opticians will use our patented software to digitally calculate this measurement.
